Tuesday October 7th 8PM: Barbie Destruction Night

Yes, it is finally that time of year again. We have boxes of barbies and piles of art supplies for the 4th annual Barbie Mutilation Night. We are asking a donation of $5 to $10 for each barbie which will go directly to the Creativity Explored art program. Creativity Explored is a nonprofit visual arts canter for artists with developmental disabilities. There will be prizes for the scariest, ugliest, most creative and funniest barbies. You are welcome to take them home with you or leave then with our growing collection. The fun will start around 8PM.

Tuesday October 28th: Local Filmmaker Night

9PM - Bulk Foodveyor's THE PURPOSE-DRIVEN LIFE with Dan Carbone's DOT (and other cinematic rarities.)

Bulk Foodveyor's THE PURPOSE-DRIVEN LIFE (2008) is a bizarre Gulliver's Travel chronicling the swinish populace of an alternate universe. It unfolds in small episodes, imparted by a mad historian from the end of time. THE PURPOSE-DRIVEN LIFE was created in residence at the San Francisco City Dump. Costumes, miniatures, props and sets were made from found materials and weirdly puerile performances were improvised against blue-screen.

Dan Carbone's DOT (1986) is a lost classic. Rarely screened since it aired on USA Network's Night Flight in 1986, it still inspires devoted cultists. DOT uses uncanny black & white 16mm cinematography to tell the tale of an
illegal space alien and the small group of unfortunates and illiterates who (perhaps unwisely) take him in.

There will be additional cinematic surprises.
